North Kilworth Wharf is situated on the Leicester ring of the Grand Union Canal which is universally recognised as one of the most beautiful sections of canal in the whole country. With 21 miles of lock free cruising with a staircase of locks at either end which you can choose to avoid or enjoy the operating of the locks. There has been a wharf at this site for nearly 200 years and we are still busy with painting, fabricating and repairs.
The Leicester section of the Grand Union opened in 1814 and there is evidence of a wharf at our site in 1820. Watch this space for our 200th birthday celebrations next year! Present

With our heated 72ft paintshop we can undertake full paint and restoration projects. Under the guidance of our paint director Tristan the team are rapidly gaining a reputation as amongst the best on the cut.
